Voyage of the Vindicta 1837-1890 and 1942

Ignored by her father and traumatized by the suicide of her mother, Madee must find her way through a world that seems destined to visit her with only cruelty. But then her life changes drastically.

Drawn by an irresistible force, Madee arrives at the ruins of the Glauke Fountain not knowing why she is there. She soon finds out when the 1858 earthquake opens a fissure that arouses an ancestor, Medea, and the most ancient of all sorceresses — the first and most powerful of all witches — Hecate.

In a ceremony at the altars of Hecate and Hebe, Medea transforms Madee, and she begins a voyage of revenge that circles the globe. For more than 150 years Madee and her coven sail from port to port on the vindicta, a black tern schooner.
