Twenty-two years ago, Agent Parker lost the battle against a force with which he couldn’t contend—Deus Bellatore (God’s Warriors). To keep his self-respect, he refused to accept the loss.

He quit the job he loved—agent of the Air Force Office of Special Investigation (AFOSI). He opened George Parker Private Investigation and Security Analysis in Washington, D.C.

It was moderately successful, and the battle he had lost had faded—until the anniversary of that haunting loss. Deus Bellatore re-enters his life, and he is forced to keep the vow he had made long ago.
